CERVITAM is a medicine of clear therapeutic interest, composed of vincamine (alkaloid extracted from Vinca minor L) and piracetam (2-pyrrolidone-acetamide).

On account of its selective vaso-regulatory action in the encephalic area, vincamine improves the circulation and nutrition of the cerebral parenchyma.

Piracetam is a specific activator of the metabolism of the cerebral cortex, which increases the energetic neuronal reserves, reinforcing the resistance of the brain cells to hypoxia.

Call your doctor at once if you have any of these s side effects:

• Nervous agitation.
• Instability.
• Insomnia.are accentuated with usage in elderly.
• Gastro-intestinal troubles e.g. nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastralgia.
• Possibility of widening of QT space and risk of extremities twist.

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to one of components and if you have cerebral neo-formation with intracranial hypertension and if you used certain medications causing extremities.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have hypokalemia, auriculoventricular conduction troubles and cardiac arrhythmia.

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have sever renal insufficiency (if there is no dialysis, it is not dialysis, it is not advisable to use high dosage for short intervals.

Prohibited concomitance with bepridil, bretylium, erythromycin (I.V), Quinidines.
Indvisable concomitance with hypokalemic diuretics, amphotericine (I.V), coticoides, stimulant laxatives, medications using extremities twist e.g. pentamidine, sparfloxacine, terfenadine.

Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Take this medication for the full prescribed length of time.

Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

Seek emergency medical attention.

Tell your doctor about all other medications you use, especially:

• Bepridil, bretylium, erythromycin (I.V), Quinidines.
